Would highly recommend

Max is a brilliant guide but what makes him different is he also has a huge amount of knowledge and can teach if you are like me and want to be taught. I’ve now done 4 days with him (Ben Nevis scramble and summit, Glen Nevis scramble and rock climb and 2 days indoors learning to be a competent second).

Each day has been fantastic. Max is very patient and his teaching style is first class. He is very knowledgeable, adaptable, interesting and fun.

I will be booking further days with him and would highly recommend.

Amazing experience tackling Tower Ridge (Ben Nevis)

My nephew (21) and I (34) were originally daunted by the prospect of tackling Tower Ridge on Ben Nevis but our instructor Max was great throughout.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day scrambling and has made us keen to tackle another route, maybe in the winter as some point in the future.

I can't stress how good Max was a guide. He was calm, considered and very knowledgeable about the route and we were made to feel safe throughout. He was very encouraging and supportive and explained each section in a measured way which was assuring to us novices. We would definitely recommend Max to prospective clients and look forward to climbing with him again

Max provided clear (and as we found out on the mountain) essential advice on clothing and equipment that kept us safe and well. You underestimate Ben Nevis at your peril and Max knows how to ensure you enjoy the experience. Max is professional, helpful and friendly and I would highly recommend you book him for your activity

Amazing Day with Andy

Max is such a great planner, he would give you all the information top tips to make sure you are absolutely prepared for the day. our guide Andy was so great, he made sure we are doing well and constantly giving us all the important information about BEN Nevis, informing us about what's coming up next (zig zags) how much height we are on and cracking some jokes in between was just amazing. I felt this whole experience of Ben Nevis was awesome with Andy. I don't think I would have made it to Ben Nevis Summit without Hunter Mountaineering! Would highly recommend and cannot wait to book Max for next trek.

One epic extraordinary day.

Prior to embarking on the trip I was clear as to the levels of fitness and equipment expected to ensure a successful completion of the trip. It was clear I was in experienced hands. The information and emails sent before I landed in Fort William gave me confidence in the company.

Right on meeting Max at the carpark he was super and felt like meeting a familar friend. He put me at my ease and gauged the pace and my levels of fitness. I enjoyed his chat. Max was so knowledgeable and thoughtful throughout the day making sure that the day was everything and more it could be. It was a day in a million. An unforgettable day which I shall forever treasure. Max's passion for the mountain is clear and I can see why he is such a guardian of the hill collecting others folks litter on the way I am so pleased that he puts £1 donation for each walker to the up keep of the incredible path. I believe that the cost was extremely reasonable and the best money spent. I want to send my appreciation and thanks. The day could not be surpassed.

Scrambling

Another three excellent days scrambling with Max. On the climbs l find Max to be very calm and encouraging.I also appreciated the way we were able to adapt our plans in response to weather forecasts. This ensured I had a very worthwhile and interesting time. I have already booked for next spring.
